How do I access templates?

You must be a subscriber to The Brand Source to access templates. If you have not already signed up, you can do so here.

Once you find the design you are ready to use, click "View Details"

You will be taken to a detailed page with more information about the template, pre-filled caption, and template customization options 

When you select "Customize Design"…

You will be immediately directed to Canva to make any edits to the design and personalize as you see fit. 

When you select "Copy Caption"…

The pre-made caption will be copied onto your clipboard, allowing you to easy paste into Instgram when you are ready. 

How do I set up my Canva account? 

The first time you click "Customize Design", you will be prompted to either sign into your existing Canva account or create a new one. Follow the instructions provided on the screen. If you run into any issues, click here for Canva support instructions. 

Do you provide captions for social posts?

Each social post comes with a caption that you can copy and customize as you see fit. Select "View Details" to review the provided social caption.

Then select "Copy Caption" and the pre-made caption will be copied onto your clipboard, allowing you to easy paste into Instagram when you are ready. 

How do I post on my social media?

Through Canva you have two options to post on social media:

Share directly to Instagram through Canva

  1. Using the Canva mobile app, click the Share button then select Instagram. For more detailed instructions, see here

* You can also schedule a post via desktop if you have an Instagram Business Account. For more detailed instructions, see here 

Download & post 

  1. Using the Canva mobile app, click the "Export" in the menu, and select "Download" to save the image to your photos. See more detailed instructions here
  2. Open the Instagram app and follow the steps to share a new post or story, using the image you downloaded from Canva. See detailed instructions on a post here and a story here

What are brand templates and how can I use them?

Brand Templates are designs that you can use to promote yourself and your business. Several different designs are available for you to express your individuality and use expertly designed promotional materials. We will periodically update these designs and templates but you can access them at any time and use them for a variety of purposes. 

How often is content updated?

Social and email templates will be updated every month so you have access to refreshed and relevant information. We will notify you when we have new monthly content available. 

The Brand templates will only be periodically updated updated. We will notify you when we have new content in the Brand section of the website.

How do I customize the designs?

1. Select "Customize Design" and you will be directed to Canva. Once you have logged in, you will see a confirmation screen showing that The Brand Source is sharing a template with you. Select the button "Use template for new design." From there the template will be added to your personal Canva account. 

2. Used Canva’s editing capabilities to change out images/text/design features as you see fit. Check out this beginner's guide to Cavnva here to learn how to use the tool.

What if someone else in my market also uses your service?

While others might use the same service, the benefit of our platform is the ability to customize the content to fit your brand. To make sure your personality shines, we recommend you make your own adjustments to the content so that you are adding a twist that will make the marketing pieces you share uniquely your own. 

Do you post on social media for me?

At this time we do not post on social media on your behalf.

Account/Billing details

Click on the person icon on the top right corner of the page. This will lead you to the accounts page.

From there you can review your subscriptions and purchases, change billing details, or cancel any upcoming payments.

Canva troubleshooting

Do I need a Canva account to use the templates?

How do I lock and unlock elements on Canva?

To maintain design consistency, there might be certain elements that are “locked” in the design templates. To unlock and lock those design elements, you can find the instructions here

Mailchimp troubleshooting

Do I need a Mailchimp account to use email templates?

Yes. You need to have a Mailchimp account in order to to use and edit the email designs. You can sign up for a free account or pay for a premium account. For more detailed instructions, you can click here
